โBy the power vested by the Board of Regents to our University President, and by the authority vested upon me by our President, I hereby declare you as graduates of academic year 2024-2025,โ declared by Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), Dr. Grenny I. Jungco.
Central Philippines State University (CPSU) system welcomed its first batch of graduates for the academic year 2024-2025 as 205 Hinoba-an Cenphilian graduands officially turned their tassels during the campusโ 14th Commencement Exercises today, June 9, 2025.
52 Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business (BSAB) graduands, 106 Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) graduands, and 47 Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) graduands were presented by their respective program heads and were confirmed by Dr. Jungco, on behalf of the University President, Dr. Aladino C. Moraca.
With the theme: โLegacy of Wisdom, Celebrating Success: Years Strong and Infinite Futures,โ the Commencement Exercises was held at the Municipality of Hinoba-anโs Peopleโs Pagbana-ag Activity Center, succeeding the Closing & Recognition Rites, and the graduating classโ Baccalaureate Service held at the St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church.
Guest Speaker, Department of Education (DepEd)-Himamaylan Schools Division Superintendent, Maโam Gladys Amylaine D. Sales, CESO VI, shared seven noteworthy life lessons for the graduates and attendees in her commencement speech.
Maโam Sales further conveyed, โYou, dear graduates, are proof of CPSUโs 75 years of commitment to quality education, empowerment, and nation-building for our beloved countryโthe Philippines. You are not just mere graduates, you are the very harvest of this sacred groundโready to bloom and shineโฆAs I aged, I realized basic truths in life that Iโve learned along the way. Lessons Iโve truly learned that have shaped me into who I am now. One is that our success isnโt just something that just happens. Itโs a decision that we make for ourselves.โ
CPSU Hinoba-anโs graduating class of 2024-2025 produced 32 Latin honor awardees, including 15 Magna Cum Laude and 17 Cum Laude distinction recipients, and 2 special awardees.
Magna Cum Laude Latin Distinction Awardee, Ms. Jemelyn F. Amarado shared her testimony and expressed, โI learned that success is not about being the fastest, the smartest, or the wealthiest. Sometimes itโs just about surviving the storm with our souls intactโฆAs long as we donโt give up, [weโll see] that it was Godโs plan all along. When I was lost in the darkness, when my strength was gone, and when my hope was fading, God was there, quietly working behind the scenes and carrying me through the battles I thought I couldnโt survive.โ
Surrounded by the colorful background and foreground of artistic graffiti reflecting Hinoba-an culture and way of life, the graduates were immersed in a seemingly varicolored moment of holding their dream-come-true in their hands as they received their diplomas and Transcript of Records (TORs).
As their names were called upon by Campus Registrar, Maโam Joy Malen E. Baldevino, graduates took center stage and received their diplomas conferred by Dr. Jungco, Mr. Gonzales, and program chairpersons, BSIT Program Chair, Mr. John Rey T. Boaquiรฑa; COTED Program Chair, Dr. Gargar S. Alfonso; and BSAB Program Chair, Ms. May Ann S. Caliplip.
In his inspirational message, Dr. Jungco expressed, โParents, I congratulate you because you invested in the education of your children and they are now reaping the fruits of your combined efforts and sacrifices. As one of CPSUโs best practices, I am informing you, graduates and the public that your diploma and TORs for employment are already in your hands. The world is ready to accept you in the world of employment, so I inspire and encourage you to use those tools in taking leaps further. Cenphilians, donโt hesitate to move forward, treasure the word โpadayonโ in your heart with steadfast and wholehearted trust to the LORD Almighty. Congratulations!โ
In the solemn processional march, smiles of sweet pride and success were evident through countless faces as the graduands, accompanied by their parents and guardians, walked through the red carpet, followed by CPSUโs Board of Regents and Administrative Council Members, and Hinoba-an Campusโ faculty and staff.
CPSU Hinoba-an Campus Administrator, Sir Patrocenio L. Gonzales, also relayed his message, โAs I stand here today, I was overwhelmed and likewise a little bit emotional for you are the last class that Iโll be joining since I am going to make my retirement four days from now. However, my heart is pounding with joy for you are now in the peak of your desired moment of realityโฆTo the proud parents, look at your children. They are now in their caps and gowns because you never gave up on providing their essentials. This ceremony marks the incredible milestone you strived to achieve.โ
Gracefully hoisted high by CPSUโs Board Secretary V, Maโam Nelly S. Cabual, the new University Mace also made its debut for the much-anticipated commencement exercises series across the universityโs ten campuses and two extension classes.
The graduation ceremony of CPSU-Sipalay Campus is anticipated to transpire tomorrow, June 10, 2025.
