“Prepare yourselves. Don’t rush into employment. Take your time,” said Dr. Jirec A. Bacongco.

Insightful messages and profound pointers reverberated during the Career Enhancement Program for Central Philippines State University-Main Campus graduating students, featuring the theme “Empower Your Future: Skills for Success.”

Experts from various fields also enriched the students’ learning experience by sharing power tips for the aspiring professionals’ job-landing endeavors during the event held on May 27, 2025, in the Main Campus Covered Court.

CPSU Professor 1 and licensed professional teacher Dr. Marfy M. Cabayao imparted quality advice and strategies for creating excellent resumes and curricula vitae to capture the interests of target employers in his “Resume Writing Workshop.”

CPSU Victorias Campus Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) Program Head, Mr. Christian Anthony G. Serfino, taught students how to make the best first impressions in his “Self-Presentation and Etiquette” lecture.

Furthermore, Universal Robina Corporation–Southern Negros Development Corporation (URC SONEDCO) Talent Management Associate Ms. Alexandra P. Castillo shared noteworthy tips in overcoming communication apprehension and acing job interviews in her “Interview Preparation Tips” talk.

Moreover, Social Security System (SSS) Kabankalan Branch—Acting Head, Mr. Troy T. Magbanua—cascaded essential knowledge for financial stability and preparedness for newcomers to the workforce in his “Social Security System Awareness” lecture.

Student’s Admission and Facilitative Enhancement (SAFE) Center Director Dr. Bacongco set the program’s mood by reiterating the significance of preparedness for the workforce, careful planning to secure employment, and the significance of rest and pause before fully immersing oneself in the world of work.

Motivational and uplifting messages were also given by the Office of the Student Services and Affairs (OSSA) Dean, Dr. Aubrey Ginelle P. Rallos, Curriculum Planning and Development Office Director, Dr. Pilipinas Ma. D. Jareño, and SAFE Center Career and Job Placement Services Coordinator Ms. Leody Mae T. Villacarlos—who spearheaded the event.

Organized by the Student’s Admission and Facilitative Enhancement (SAFE) Center in cooperation with the OSSA, the Career Enhancement Program served as a springboard to bolster students toward reaching their career and professional goals—encouraging them to aim higher with confidence that they have what it takes to succeed and thrive.
