  • CPSU monthly Convocation highlights financial literacy, 110 outstanding faculty members commended

110 faculty members from Central Philippines State University-Main Campus colleges were recognized for their exemplary teaching performance as reflected in their outstanding ratings for the first semester of Academic Year 2023-2024.

The recognition ceremony was held during CPSU’s monthly convocation on May 5, 2025, which highlighted the significance of financial literacy as a life-essential to achieve financial stability, with the theme: “Financial Literacy and Quality of Life.”

Cenphilians including students, faculty, and the non-teaching personnel convened in the Main Campus covered court to hear the keynote lecture: “Money Matters: Key to Financial Stability” given by the resource speaker, Ms. Irene Grace A. De Jesus.

Ms. De Jesus shared her expertise as a registered real estate appraiser and the ChinaBank Corporation-Kabankalan Branch Operations Manager, in effectively managing one’s financial assets; she concluded her talk by emphasizing salient points in achieving financial stability particularly by having consistent and intentional habits, and monitoring progress—parting wise advice of shaping one’s tomorrow through good financial management today.

The second part of the program featured the commendation of outstanding faculty members who received certificates of recognition from the Training Services Office, headed by Director Dr. Mary Grace Noreen P. Leduna, and were conferred by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Grenny I. Jungco, and the Human Resource Management Office Head, Ms. Shenna Mae Z. Tanilon.

During the convocation, the university’s participation in the celebration of May as the Ease of Doing Business month, its impact and implication on clientele welfare, and other EODB events organized by the Anti-Red Tape Authority were also expounded for the CPSU community.

Moreover, Dr. Jungco and Office of the Student Services and Affairs Director, Dr. Aubrey Ginelle P. Rallos also quoted 1 Timothy 6:10 in line with the convocation theme as they imparted their respective messages to Cenphilians.

Lastly, the Adventist Students Services and Evangelistic Team (ASSET) showcased their God-given singing talents as they collectively sang a hymn to encourage their fellow Cenphilians and uplift the spirits of attendees as they ended the convocation.

This convocation was organized by the College of Hospitality Management, led by CHM Dean Ma’am Sheila A. Ignacio, with CHM Officer-in-Charge Ma’am Lewelyn P. Ronquillo, and the College of Computer Studies, headed by CCS Dean, Dr. Chester L. Cofino, with CCS Officer-in-Charge Ma’am Shara Mae R. Tee.
