124 research proposals and completed studies by Central Philippines State University faculty proponents were reviewed and critiqued during the Research and Development Symposium 2025.

Faculty proponents from all CPSU campuses convened for the two-day annual agency in-house review held from March 25-26, 2025, organized by the Research and Development Services Office (RDS) headed by its director, Dr. Angelie Rose L. Lumba.

Abiding by CPSU’s mandate to generate leading technologies in multidisciplinary areas, the in-house review aimed to provide participants with expert opinions from guest evaluators from esteemed Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and government agencies to enhance the quality of proponents’ studies, address study weaknesses, and ensure excellence in university research.

The review sessions were conducted in the Research Development and Extension Center (RDEC) Conference Room  and the College of Engineering’s Audio-Visual Room simultaneously.

Dr. Dennis V. Madrigal (University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, Graduate School - Dean), Dr. Hazel P. Villa (West Visayas State University, Public Affairs and Marketing Communication - Director), and Dr. Craig N. Refugio (Negros Oriental State University, Professor 6, Office of International Linkages - Director, Office of University Research - Acting Director) reviewed the outputs under the disciplines of Social Science, Arts and Humanities, Gender and Development, Education, Governance, and Policy Studies.

On the other hand, Dr. Alvin D. Palanog (PhilRice Murcia, Senior Science Research Specialist), Dr. Aragon Dechimu (Philippine Normal University; Research, Extension, Quality Assurance, and Development - Director), and Dr. Maria Elena San Jose (Provincial Environment Management Office, Technical Services Division –  Head) reviewed the outputs under the fields of Agriculture and Fisheries; Environment and Natural Resources; Engineering, Information Technology and Developmental Researches; and Food Processing and Product Development.

Engr. Marc Alexei Caesar B. Badajos, Ph.D., Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF), recognized the significance of the event and highlighted the impressive volume of proposals and completed research showcased; he urged the proponents to remain passionate about research and motivated by their genuine love for innovation—encouraging them to persist in conducting studies aimed at contributing to the betterment of the community.

The 2025 in-house review concluded successfully after the critique and review of proposals and studies relevant to supporting local industries, providing livelihood opportunities, elevating education quality, bolstering student performance, improving language studies, cultivating cultural heritage, protecting local wildlife, and preserving natural resources.
