  • CPSU retains ISO 9001:2015 certification at the 2nd surveillance audit

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 remains conferred to Central Philippines State University (CPSU) after a successful 2nd Surveillance Audit on March 8, 10–12, 2025.

The TUV Rheinland auditing team disclosed the initial findings of the 2nd Surveillance Audit and its recommendation for “the maintenance of the existing certification” during the closing meeting at the CPSU Accreditation Center.

Esteemed TUV Rheinland auditors Ma’am Medilyn Plaza, Ma’am Jogina Mendiola, and Mr. Rolando Remitar audited institutional processes in four CPSU sites: CPSU Main, Candoni, Sipalay, and Ilog campuses; their objective was to verify whether the established management system complies with the requirements of the standards and to identify opportunities for improvement.

“The organization has established and maintains an effective system to ensure compliance with its policies and objectives. In line with the audit targets, the audit team confirms that the organization’s management system complies with, adequately maintains, and implements the requirements of the standard(s),” stated TUV Rheinland’s Ma’am Plaza.

The surveillance audit also encompassed provision and development on higher and advanced education; instruction, research, extension, and production; and administrative support and services in its scope.

The top management and key officials from various CPSU offices addressed inquiries about the university’s business planning and the strategic direction and were surveyed about the internal quality audit, program accreditation, customer satisfaction, customer feedback and handling of complaints, and institutional planning and development/quality objectives.

Campus administrators, college deans, and key academic officials also exhibited transparency of the institutional processes as auditors conducted classroom observations and academic laboratory inspections and interviewed process owners about the admission, research and development, facilities, security services, clinic, extension services, university library and ICT-MIS, business enterprise/production, student affairs, scholarship and financial assistance, guidance and counseling, and faculty training and development services.

“We would have struggled significantly, but with the guidelines from the ISO and the UI Green Metric, Times Higher Education (THE), World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), and Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Stars international ranking bodies, we can project the direction of the university ten to twenty years ahead. I am highlighting that with the invaluable combined strength of the seasoned professors and instructors, and the youthful workforce of this institution, CPSU has reached and can reach even greater heights. Thank you for your support of the success of this endeavor,” said Dr. Moraca in his statement of commitment.

President Moraca, Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF) Engr. Marc Alexei Caesar B. Badajos, Quality Assurance (QA) Director Dr. Grenny I. Jungco, Quality Management System (QMS) Director Mr. Noel Dayono, and the process owners applauded as the audit results were announced, expressing shared gratitude towards the TUV Rheinland auditing team who provided insightful continual improvement initiatives and commended the institution for its recognition and awards.
