  • New CPSU projects, assets inaugurated

The blessing and inauguration of multiple Central Philippines State University (CPSU) projects and assets were celebrated by the CPSU community last January 28 at its Main Campus.

A short opening program was held at 2 pm in the newly constructed P10 million CPSU covered court and was witnessed by students, faculty, and staff—the covered court being the first to be inaugurated and blessed.

“We are now celebrating the inauguration of our new covered court, which symbolizes dedication to holistic development. This facility will serve as a venue not only for sports and recreation but also for fostering camaraderie and unity among members of the CPSU family,” exclaimed Dr. Grenny I. Jungco, Quality Assurance Director, in his opening remarks.

Rev. Father Ritchie A. Villaflor led the blessing ceremony in the projects including the dedicated area for the university’s soon-to-rise graduate school building located near the new engineering building and facing the national highway.

“I believe, embracing the institution is part of the process, and the institution can only be embraced if the administration is trying to reach out and deliver quality service to you, students because you are the primary clients of this university. Your presence and the growth of our CPSU community make the faculty and staff joyous. Regarding what I perceive to be “next”, I envision for our campuses to have more realized projects which are designed to address existing problems and dedicated to the betterment of the services that we offer,” said Dr. Aladino C. Moraca, CPSU President.

Additionally, two new Toyota HiAce Grandia units were also blessed, which are expected to respectively improve travel comfort for the Victorias and San Carlos campuses' students and personnel, and also the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) newly installed solar power system was blessed during the ceremony; this is to contribute to taking the greener CPSU a notch higher.

“Dear students, I thank you for believing CPSU—our key officials, and Dr. Moraca’s governance as reflected by your presence and support in this ceremony. I encourage you to reciprocate the university’s efforts as scholars of the motherland. Try to strive to equate the provisions of your alma mater by performing well and passing your respective board examinations because in the long run, you will be reaping the most from the fruition of your diligent efforts,” said Dr. Fernando D. Abello, Vice President for Academic Affairs, in his closing remarks.

In his message, the university president also provided the community with updates about the infrastructure projects on the campus, including the under-renovation Clemente Sports Complex, and the under-construction two-storey Student Hub.

Dr. Moraca also highlighted the soon-to-rise, sleek, and modern Graduate School Building that will amount to P35 to 40 million, and is expected to bolster the quality of learning experiences and cater to the facilities dedicated to CPSU’s graduate school students.
