CPSU Hinoba-an holds Learning Resource Center groundbreaking

Amidst the howling winds and heavy downpours, Cenphilians and local leaders anticipate a future beacon of enlightenment.

The Learning Resource Center Building’s groundbreaking ceremony was held last October 24, 2024, at Central Philippines State University (CPSU) Hinoba-an Campus.

Despite the inclement weather brought on by the severe tropical storm Kristine in the province of Negros Occidental, the University’s faculty and staff, led by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Fernando D. Abello witnessed the occasion, the event marking the construction of a facility conducive to the learning endeavors of both students and personnel.

“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the LGU of this municipality under the leadership of Mayor Reluquias, former Mayor Estrao, former campus administrator, and everyone present today. I hope that this Learning Resource Center will be instrumental in making this campus become a peaceful and progressive institution for the service and betterment of our students,” said Dr. Abello in his inspirational message.

Expressing their support for the project, CPSU’s campus and extension class administrators: Dr. Germa T. Borres of Cauayan Campus, Ma’am Bella D. Supe of Hinigaran Campus, Dr. Willie L. Lacida, Jr. of Ilog Campus, Dr. Joe-an Mae G. Escober of Murcia Extension Class, Mr. Ken M. Balogo of San Carlos Campus, Dr. Ervin F. Ferraris of Sipalay Campus, and Dr. Noel B. Fordente of Victorias Campus; College Deans: Dr. Michael B. Bacolod (College of Arts and Sciences) and Dr. Chester L. Cofino (College of Computer Studies), and Mr. Charlie Magne B. Coronel (Planning Officer III) were present at the event.

CPSU Hinoba-an Campus Administrator, Mr. Patrocenio L. Gonzales, welcomed the university officials and the municipal leaders from the Local Government Unit of Hinoba-an, Hon. Mayor Daph Anthony V. Reliquias, and Hon. Vice Mayor Jefre L. Encoy, and former Mayor, Hon. Ernesto A. Estrao, in his welcome address.

Mayor Reliquias, who heeded the invitation and attended, disregarding the downpour of rain and beating of the winds, congratulated the CPSU Administration for providing students with quality education and eventually revealed plans for establishing a student dormitory for deserving underprivileged CPSU Hinoba-an students.

Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. Ferdinand J. Amar blessed the project site, followed by the ceremonial shoveling of soil by the University Officials and esteemed guests.
