  • 2nd Annual Agency-In-House Research Review, Graduate Research Forum successful

The 2nd Annual Agency-In-House Research Review and Graduate Research Forum 2024 of Central Philippines State University was successfully concluded via in-person and virtual forums despite the inclement weather.

The opening program was held at CPSU Main Campus Mt. Ballo Hall, followed by simultaneous sessions in the Research Development and Extension Center (RDEC) Conference Room, College of Engineering Audio Visual Room, and Accreditation Center.

Negros Oriental State University’s Director for International Linkage and Acting University Research Director, Dr. Craig N. Refugio; University of Negros Occidental - Recoletos’ Graduate School Dean, Dr. Dennis V. Madrigal; Philippine Normal University – Visayas’ Research, Extension, Quality Assurance & Development Director, Dr. Aragon A. Dechimo Jr.; Capiz State University’s Office of Student Services and Affairs Director, Dr. Emmie D. Potato; and Capiz State University – Burias Campus’ Research and Publication Chair, Dr. Ryan T. Sarimong constituted the esteemed panel of evaluators.

"I thank the private and public HEI experts for sharing their expertise, which is instrumental in achieving the dream of having more HEI research studies purposed at touching the lives of the poor and for the underprivileged to enjoy the fruits of the endeavors," expressed University President Dr. Aladino C. Moraca, who also highlighted the university's ongoing efforts in establishing the university in rankings for top universities worldwide through a competent workforce composed by young faculty members with the efforts and expertise of the seasoned faculty members."

Pursuing research as one of CPSU's fourfold functions as mandated by the Commission on Higher Education for Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), the faculty of the university from its campuses throughout the province presented their research studies before the panel—their research initiatives being their contribution in helping the local and international academe thrive for the benefit of the nation and humanity as they help in better understanding and addressing new and existing issues in diverse fields.

To exhibit the fruits of undergoing their master’s and doctorate courses, graduate school students at the university also presented their research studies at the forum held from September 12-14, 2024.

"We would like to encourage all the faculty and our students to pursue such a diverse array of research studies that can complement the needs of our community," said the University Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Fernando D. Abello, in his opening remarks as he linked the importance of research in improving the lives of the local community and in achieving a successful internationalization campaign for the university.

Due to the unfavorable weather conditions brought by several weather systems within the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the facilitators opted to use video teleconferencing for the second and third days of the annual forum.

CPSU’s Research and Development Services, headed by its Director Angelie Rose L. Lumba, PhD, hints that recognition for outstanding studies and presenters will be announced soon.
