The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) held its Pinning and Donning Ceremony for Class 2023, Magsik last January 17 at the Central Philippines State University-Main Campus grandstand.
CCJE faculty organized the event to recognize the efforts of 71 fourth-year criminology students and to formally commence their off-campus on-the-job training with the graduating class' parents and guardians witnessing the momentous event.
An alumnus, Patrolman Clemente D. Cabilen Jr. from Philippine National Police (PNP) regional Mobile Force 6, graced the event and imparted an insightful testimony of his experiences as the inspirational speaker while Police Senior Master Sergeant Michael Villafuerte, spoke on behalf of the parents and guardians present.
In her opening speech, the Dean of Criminal Justice Education, Prof. Shenai F. Juance reminded the interns, “I know CPSU taught you well in this area. Be of service. Have a heart that is willing to help. You are assigned to the stations to learn and immerse yourselves, and you cannot fulfill such by just sitting down. Take initiative, extend your hand to the services in need in the office, and be resourceful and industrious, just as how CPSU has taught you.”
Magsik’s Neariah C. Maestro, who led the criminology interns as they marched their way into the ceremony, was donned the rank of colonel, the chief of criminology practicum service.
In his testimony, Maestro expressed his gratitude to the CCJE faculty, “Thank you for teaching us, guiding us, molding us, and disciplining us. Right from the start when we entered and enrolled in this university, you [did] all that not just because that’s
are intended to do but or just because that’s what you’re paid for. But, all of us here, know, feel, and see your love and concern [over] us.”
Class 2023 sang their class song “Puso” and the closing remarks from the On-the-Job Training coordinator, Elmer S. Manzanares, MSCJ meaningfully ended the ceremony.
